Westmoreland Bottling Facility Saved from Liquidation

2/8/2005

In late 2003 the SVA was referred to Three Rivers Bottling by the regional GAT office. The facility had been struggling with working capital and sales issues since it had been purchased out of a prior bankruptcy by a consortium of three beverage companies.

Through the first part of the year Bob Value of the SVA worked with the onsite management on a number of operational/cost cutting and financial issues however when the Company lost its key customer mid-year conditions went from bad to worse.

In fall of 2004 the Company’s assets were purchased out of pre-packaged bankruptcy by a Connecticut businessman, Brian Dworkin, who also owns a bottled seltzer company (“Castle Seltzer”). The new entity is known as Castle Co-Packers. The SVA has continued to assist, arranging for example, technical assistance from PennTap’s Rodger Price to provide a review of the facility’s electric bills to determine sales tax exemption status for the manufacturing process.
