Gov. Wolf announces nearly $3M in funding for businesses in Bucks, Franklin, Luzerne counties

by: Liz Carey, Pennsylvania Business Report

Gov. Tom Wolf announced Wednesday that Pennsylvania will provide $2.7 million in low-interest loans to three companies in Bucks, Franklin, and Luzerne counties.

Funded through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority, the loans will fund projects to expand their operations, renovate facilities and create jobs.

“Pennsylvania manufacturers drive our economy, providing critical goods, services, and jobs to consumers and workers across the commonwealth,” Wolf said. “The funding approved today through PIDA will help businesses in three counties grow and improve their operations through additional space and more efficient equipment and processes.”

This year, PIDA has approved more than $10 million in low-interest loans resulting in more than $18 million in private investment and supporting 335 new, full-time jobs.

In Bucks County, Harry J. Lawall and Son, Inc. received a 15-year, $1.83 million PIDA real estate loan for the acquisition and renovation of a 38,276-square foot manufacturing facility in Middletown Township. The new facility will allow the company to relocate five facilities into one, creating a more efficient and cohesive environment. The company also received a 10-year $200,000 PIDA M&E loan to purchase machinery and equipment for the new facility.

In Franklin County, American Print Consultants, LLC (APC) received a 15-year $400,000 PIDA loan to acquire a 28,311-square-foot facility in Chambersburg Borough. The new facility will allow the company to expand with additional office, warehouse, and manufacturing spaces, including two load docks.

And in Luzerne County, National HVAS Manufacturing Company, LLC, through NEPA Alliance, was approved for a 15-year, $268,750 loan to renovate its 20,600-square-foot facility in Wyoming Borough and to purchase machinery and equipment. The renovations will include new flooring and light, a new HVAC system, hydronic boilers, new gas and sewer lines, and updated bathrooms and office space.
