MATAAC - Your PA Business Improvement Resource

  • Are you looking for project solutions to remain globally competitive?

  • Has your business experienced a decline in sales and production due to global imports?

  • Have you recently reduced your workforce?

The MidAtlantic Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (MATAAC) is here to help! Partnering with the Economic Development Administration (EDA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, MATAAC administers the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAAF) program for manufacturing firms in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. that have been negatively impacted by global imports.

This cost-sharing funding program for business improvement can help alleviate the expense of working with consultants and industry-specific experts. We work with firms of all sizes, and provide up to $75,000 in matching funds for improvement projects.

If you have been in business for at least two years and your firm has experienced the negative impact of global imports, we encourage you to learn how MATAAC can assist today. There is no cost to apply. And you can rest assured that all information is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act, ensuring your trade secrets and finances remain strictly confidential. We walk you through the certification process which can take around four months.

If certified by the EDA as trade injured, the amount of assistance you receive will be determined by your company’s size, number of employees and the complexity of the issues faced. Firms have the option to cost-share business improving projects with MATAAC. There are two cost-sharing options for assistance with projects at 25% and 50%. Improvement projects are expected to begin within 6 months of approval, and allow for 5 years to complete.

Assistance can be used on virtually any business improvement project including, but not limited to: marketing, sales, operations, financial management, IT, planning, training, new product development, new service development, quality insurance, customer service, software customization, and more.

In today’s changing world of business, imports can be a challenge, but don’t need to derail a business. Let MATAAC help you!
